TRU FAM is a emerging urban AC Duo Hip Hop Group. In early 2002, in the dangerous streets of Paterson, NJ which was a spawning ground for drugs and gang violence identical twins Young Sha and Just I took what would later develop into the influential sound of main stream issues of hip hop. From outside of mainstream retail outlets, artists like TRU FAM gained a local buzz. . It was during this period in the Paterson Area history that a 18-year-old Shareef and Tyreef Nealy began their career in hip-hop. At the age of 18, Shareef and Tyreef got their start performing in front vof family and friends at house parties and in local talent shows. In 2004,TRU FAM consisted of four members. They made a decision to move ahead with only two members for the group which included Young Sha & Just I. This is the reason the initial name of the group is called TRU FAM which means they are a team and represent that bond between brothers. They are clearly in their element. TRU FAM is becoming known for their up -tempo party tracks and poster boy looks.
TRU FAM’s song Shut It Down climbed the chart and is listed at number thirty seven on www.numberonemusic.com. Pump Ya Brakes which is also a single has been played by over forty pool djs and in some clubs in New Hampshire and Connecticut. TRU FAM are in their own lane. Currently with well over fourteen thousand fans/supporters and over one-thousand plays on myspace their sound is far reaching, and response to their music is gathering momentum in the states as well as from all over the world. Fans are reaching out from Europe and Asia. TRU FAM are featured in a front page article entitled " Now, Hip Hop Artists seek to Build Bridges". The article discusses bringing some of the fun back to Hip Hop Music! TRU FAM just completed their debut album entitled"Outta Dis World" The album is out now and avaialable online everywhere.The industry has embraced us, and conversations regarding ring tones, booking agents, license agreement, TV show appearances and videogames are just the beginning for TRU FAM. Their single entitled “Explode Ft: MiShell” is currently charting on Reggaeton/Hip Hop/Pop/DANCE chart & played on online radio stations throughout the US.TRU FAM has been performing on the New York City scene.
